"Volver" se convirtió el pasado fin de semana en una de las triunfadoras en la entrega de los Premios de la Academia del Cine Europeo al conseguir cinco premios. El manchego obtuvo el de mejor director, Penélope Cruz a la mejor actriz, Alberto Iglesias a la mejor música y José Luis Alcaine el de fotografía compartido con Barry Ackroyd por "El viento que agita la cebada", además el film recibió el premio especial del público.
Se trata de un éxito pero bastante relativo si tenemos en cuenta que la cinta alemana "Das Leben der anderen" (La vida de los otros) se alzó el premio gordo, el de mejor película. También fue reconocido su protagonista Ulrich Mühe como mejor actor y su director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck ganó como guionista.
